Welcome to Higher Trewithen. A place to rest, restore and reconnect in the heart of Cornwall.
Inspired by family holidays and childhood memories, Higher Trewithen was purchased in 2016. Maria now spends her time lovingly caring for the grounds and properties of Higher Trewithen and is delighted to welcome you to Cornwall.
About Us
Meet the Team
We hoped to create something magical at Higher Trewithen; an eco-conscious escape for travellers wishing to explore, relax and reconnect. Renovations are always undertaken with one eye on our natural surroundings. We strive to reduce carbon footprints, minimalise the impact on the environment, and create a haven for our guests, animals and local wildlife. Maria is also supported by her mum, who helps enormously behind the scenes, and Emma, who assists with cleaning and keeping the cottages welcoming for guests.

Meet Bowen
Our four-legged ambassador and all round good boy. As a happy, friendly English Springer Spaniel, Bo-bo is always ready with a wagging tail and a warm welcome. He adores children and will likely be the first to come visit you at your door, eager for cuddles and a game of fetch. Come say hello – Bowen can’t wait to meet you!
About Us
Meet Maria
Maria is a qualified Primary School teacher and qualified yogi. Since moving to Cornwall, she has been actively involved in the community and currently volunteers for the local Riding for Disabled Association. Maria has previously helped establish a a not-for-profit community group for parents and children under 2 to help tackle rural isolation and provide a safe meeting place for parents, carers and children to play. Her plans for Trewithen include creating a yoga space and yoga retreats. Watch this space for updates!
